Imagine This...

… a whole afternoon dedicated to celebrating young people for exactly who they are!

Join us at Parkfield in Paignton for a free, fun-filled event designed by and for young people aged 11+. Whether you’re showcasing your talents or just soaking up the creativity around you, there’s something here for everyone. 

This event is fully accessible and open to all young people aged 11 and up across Torbay and beyond. Food available at a low cost, picnics welcome.

Limited accessible parking on-site, limited on-street parking nearby. Colin Road Car Park, Victoria Car Park and Seafront Parking within walking distance.

Hapa Zome Printing with Orchard Forest School – Come and join Orchard Forest School to explore the ancient Japanese art form of Hapa Zome, where you’ll be using hammers to draw out the natural inks from flora, to create a beautiful piece of artwork.  

Games with Eat That Frog – Try your luck at the Lucky Dip, get creative with glitter tattoos and badge making, and check out products made by students and participants. Eat That Frog is a specialist Post-16 education centre helping people overcome barriers and live more fulfilled lives. 

Open mic stage (supported by Moor to Sea Music) – If you play an instrument, write your own material or have a song in mind to perform – we can help get you onto the open mic stage during the day, either on your own or with others supporting! Moor to Sea support playful Music making with a range of interesting instruments – no experience necessary!     

Taleblazers – Rich & Louise will be showcasing two exciting qualifications from their Young Personal Referral Service. Discover the John Muir Awards through a sensory nature display and learn about the Arts Award with Louise and a young person sharing their creative journey. Taleblazers helps to connect people with nature, storytelling, folklore and heritage.  

Pedal-Powered Smoothie Bike – Hop on, pedal away, and blend your own tasty smoothie while learning about active travel with Safe Sustainable Travel Torbay.  

Friendship bracelet making with Play Torbay – Make your own colourful friendship bracelets.  Play Torbay is a local charity providing fun, accessible outdoor play opportunities for children all year round.  

Crafts & Chat with Doorstep Arts – Get creative with fun, hands-on craft activities while chatting and connecting with friends in a relaxed, friendly space. Doorstep Arts is a arts education organisation based in Torbay, running affordable drama groups for ages 3-20.  

Wellbeing Activities with The Children’s Society – Take a break, relax, and enjoy activities designed to boost your mood, build confidence, and support your wellbeing.  

Cosplay Catwalk – Between 3pm and 4pm on the main stage will be a catwalk for cosplayers to go up and strut their stuff, then claim a prize at our cosplay booth! We couldn’t get a full Cosplay Gala set up this year, but this is a small taster for the second official Imagine This Gala coming early next year!  

Bikeability with Cycle Torbay – Cycle Torbay will be running cycle training for children and young people who want to take their cycling skills to the next level! Cycle Torbay is a social enterprise offering cycling focussed educational and healthy activities.  

Sound Communities – Hop on the BoomBus, a mobile radio and music studio on wheels! Try DJing, podcasting, or radio hosting. Or get creative with Yannis and give spray painting a go at the Skatepark. Sound Communities’ mission is to empower marginalised young people through collaborative digital production, boosting wellbeing, creativity, and self-expression.
