Hi 👋 Everyone,Â
We’re really glad to join the Imagine This Torbay network! Lovely to meet some of you at the recent event.
We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves as new members of the Imagine This Torbay partnership network. We’re really glad to be part of this growing community and are looking forward to connecting and exploring ways we can work together with you.
A bit about us:
Therapeutic Support Services has been operating in Torbay for the past seven years. Up until this year, we’ve primarily provided private therapy for children, young people, and families, specialising in mental health and neurodiversity. Alongside our private work, we also take referrals from Torbay Children’s Services, CAMHS, and local schools.
We currently have a team of six, each with different areas of expertise – including a SENCO, neurodiversity specialist, trauma and mental health practitioners, self harm, suicidal ideation and a clinical psychologist.
In February this year, we set up our Community Interest Company (CIC) to enable us to offer more funded services and expand the ways we support our local community.
Our focus and passion:
As a team, we’re deeply passionate about responding to the current mental health crisis among children and young people, and the ongoing lack of understanding and appropriate approaches to neurodiversity. We see both as critical areas in need of attention, and we’re committed to developing and sharing ways of working that make a difference.
We’re especially interested in collaborating on projects that bring more understanding and inclusion for children and young people struggling with mental health and neurodivergence, ensuring that they are recognised, supported, and valued within our community.
What we offer:
Training and Development: In-person or online sessions for teams on trauma-informed practice, supporting dysregulation, understanding and approaching CYP mental health, safeguarding, child protection, and understanding and working with neurodiversity – helping to create more inclusive, neurodiverse-aware environments.
Supervision and Well-being Support: Independent supervision for managers or staff teams, as well as training days to support staff well-being in emotionally demanding roles.
Collaborative Projects: We’re open to working alongside other organisations to bring a therapeutic approach into different environments – including schools, community projects, and street-based youth work. Our outreach team can join existing projects to enhance therapeutic understanding and support.
